Philadelphia Eagles and Bishop McDevitt grad LeSean McCoy hosting charity softball game to benefit ALS research.
Philadelphia Eagles running back, LeSean McCoy, will host a
celebrity softball game on June 23 at Clipper Magazine stadium to benefit ALS research and disadvantaged youth.
At a
news conference at the Clip on Monday, McCoy announced the teams will be made up by All-Pro players. Some of these NFL stars include Baltimore Ravens' Ray Rice, Mike Wallace from the
Pittsburgh Steelers, the Panthers' Cam Newton, Victor Cruz and Hakeem
Nicks of the New York Giants, and Devin Hester from the Chicago Bears.
Those
NFL players will face McCoy's team consisting of current and former
Philadelphia Eagles like, DeSean Jackson, Brent Celek, Jeremy
Maclin, and Brian Westbrook.
Proceeds from the game
will benefit the LeSean McCoy Foundation, which raises funds and
awareness for ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis). The same disease that took the life of McCoy’s grandmother.
Tickets
for the game can be obtained through the Lancaster Barnstormers
beginning Thursday.
Dugout box seats are $20 and field box seats are
$15.
There will be a homerun derby before the game starting at 6pm; while the softball game begins at 7 p.m.
