Rizzotti Debuts for Lehigh Valley

Prospect called up to AAA yesterday; in lineup tonight.

Matt Rizzotti made his Triple-A debut for Lehigh Valley tonight.

Former RPhil Matt Rizzotti got the call to Triple-A late last night and is batting cleanup in the Lehigh Valley lineup tonight against Gwinnett.

The first baseman owned Eastern League pitching, batting .362 with a stellar 1.089 OPS in 76 games. The 24-year-old led Reading with 16 home runs and 61 RBI since his May call up.

While in Reading he was named an Eastern League All-Star, Player of the Week (June 27), Player of the Month (June) and Philadelphia's Minor League Player of the Month (May).

Rizzotti finished 1-4 with a single in the fifth inning.
