Down on the Sidelines: Warwick

Warriors aim for playoff run with new man under center.

2009 Recap: After a promising 3-1 start, the Warriors went 2-4 down the stretch to finish 5-5 (3-4 in Section 1) and out of Districts.

2010 Outlook: With last year's quarterback Jordan Donmoyer focusing on baseball instead of returning to the gridiron, coach Bob Locker is preparing junior Tyler Farnan to take over the reins. Farnan is surrounded by talent at the skill positions, most notably senior and 1st Team All-Star wideout Matt Rissinger.

Key Player Lost: Chris Shaffer was a bruising force on both sides of the ball, scoring 14 touchdowns as a fullback and leading the defense from the linebacker position.

Key Returner: Senior Bryan McCall will try to fill those shoes, suiting up as a fullback and linebacker for the Warriors. The team could have a dangerous tailback tandem in seniors Deron Thompson and Andrew Newsome.

Games on Cable-11: October 8 vs. Ephrata; October 22 vs. Penn Manor.

Quotable: Locker, Rissinger, Farnan and McCall discuss the new quarterback's prospects...
