Cameron competes at the Jr. Nationals

Warwick swimmer finishes 4th in 200 Breast Consolation Finals.

Emily Cameron's pursuit of a national team spot began today at the Junior National Championships in Irvine, California.

The 15-year-old will swim eight events over the five-day meet. She needs a top-two finish in any of those to make the USA's team at the Junior Pan-Pacific Championships later in the month.

Cameron began her quest today with the 200 Fly and 200 Breast. In the morning Prelims she finished 48th in the Fly (2:19.43) and 11th in the Breast (2:35.32). That second performance qualified her for this evening's Consolation Finals, where she finished 4th with a time of 2:34.90.

On the schedule for Tuesday, the 400 IM and the 100 Free.
